ASH HANDLING SYSTEM

ASH HANDLING SYSTEM

  • Pneumatic Conveying System:

Pneumatic Conveyors play a very important role in industry to transfer bulk quantities of materials from one place to another. Pneumatic Conveyors are specially designed to hold stream of air and mixture of bulk solid materials.

There are several types of  Pneumatic Conveyors. Few transfers the materials with high pressure at low velocity with high product-air ratio. It transmits materials which are friable, fragile, abrasive and agglomerated in nature.

Few transfers the materials with low pressure at high velocity with low material to air ratio. It transmits materials which are non-friable and non-abrasive in nature.

  • Screw Conveying System:

A screw conveyor is a mechanism that uses a rotating helical screw blade within a pipe to move powders and granular materials. Many bulk handling industries use screw conveyors to move various materials efficiently horizontally or at a slight incline.

Types of Screw Conveying System:

  1. Horizontal Screw Conveyor
  2. Inclined screw conveyor
  3. Vertical screw conveyor
  4. Reversible screw conveyor
  5. Flexible screw conveyors

  • Flat Conveying System:

This system consists of belts to convey materials. The belt is extended in an endless loop between two end-pulleys. Usually one or both ends have a roll underneath. A metal slider pan support the conveyor belting for light loads where no friction would be applied to the belt. Power is provided by motors that use speed reduction gears.

  • Ash Silo:

Silos are typically used for storing bulk powders. This storage is extensively used where the requirement is of non-stop production during supply chain disruptions. This is a clean and dust free operation ensuring zero human contact with the product.

  • Ash Conditioner:

Ash conditioners are a highly effective pre-treatment system, helping to reduce the amount of ash released into the air prior to final disposal. Ash conditioners mix water with ash uniformly and discharge the ash into a pan.

As the mixture slowly rotates fixed scraper extend at right angles to the pan to scrape the bottom of the pan while water is sprayed onto the surface of the discharged ash so that the rotated ash is tumbled back to the bottom of the pan to effect uniform wetting of the tumbled particles as they are discharged downwardly from the top of the side of the pan.
